Re: CenlaLowell Lawn Journal

I'm not sure if you've seen the post(s) but, Ware or someone else, mentioned taking the crossbeam on the drag mat, and clamping it on the side edge (90 degrees left or right) so that it makes the drag mat more rigid and doesn't allow the joints to articulate down into a low spot and drag sand/dirt/c...

Re: Yard cart

Another vote for gorilla cart. I'm probably the only one who opted for the smaller one. I don't have any equipment to pull it with and have a smaller yard. I picked it up last weekend and I've been moving topsoil after work every day with and love it. So much better than a wheelbarrow. I feel like ...

Re: Resod or Rehab

barring any large rocks or debris under the surface and being heavily shaded, those areas should fill in once the bermuda comes into it's prime. a little fertilizer and good watering practices should have those areas filled in in no time.

that's my 2 cents, anyway.

Re: Resod or Rehab

While taking soil samples, I noticed most of the bare areas have really compacted soil. I took a picture and a close up of one of the chunks. Do I need to loosen up the soil in these areas and perhaps add some top soil? https://i.postimg.cc/6QhBXcBn/09814-FEF-FD09-4-C75-959-D-955-A682-B78-CA.jpg ht...

I have a 100’ 3/4” hose on the way (Underhill UltraMax Blue)... do I need the Eley extra capacity hose cart or standard cart? Extra capacity. https://i.postimg.cc/pXFpGn6m/F045-AB5-A-619-C-4-E5-C-B102-24644454939-E.jpg well crap... I just ordred 2 100ft 3/4" underhill lightweights and don...

Re: Earthway Raincover and Side Deflector Kit On Sale

picked them up this morning from Grainger. I already had a rain cover but got this solely for the deflector kit. I'll install it tonight. can't complain about the service. order was ready for pickup in less that 24 hours. My 2150 came with the side deflector but I don’t have the rain cover. Any cha...

Re: Front Yard Advice

do not resod. St. Augustine spreads fairly rapidly. You could either create plugs from the healthy portion of your lawn, or take a metal garden rake and rake it though the healthy part to pull up some stolons. Take these stolons and transpalnt them to the bare/dead spots (if it's actually dead). The...

Re: Two9tene's 2018 Journal

Decided I’m going the Home Depot to pick up one of these: https://i.postimg.cc/cLG0bh2t/2-AF89-C75-A871-4674-A15-D-8-E44087-A3804.jpg I have read and watched a ton of good reviews. Yes it has a little bit of a downside with the pump leaving some liquid in the tank. But the time and labor I’m going ...

Re: Earthway Raincover and Side Deflector Kit On Sale

thanks, picked up one to attach to my Titan spreader, it's identical to the 2150.

also, check to see if there are stores near you. They wanted $10 for shipping, i chose to pickup in-store that just a few miles away.

Re: Which Toro GM1000?

I just emailed the guy about option 2... craigslist up by Fort Worth right? Now to decide if I pull that trigger after I just bought a landscape blade. Yeah, he has a couple of units he’s gathered up over the winter. I bought one from him late last year. I believe he lurks around here on the forums...

Re: Chilliheads

Has anyone thought about the use of PGR on pepper plants? The thought crossed my mind but I am not sure about using it on fruit/vegetable crops. Can anyone chime in on this? would it have the same effect as topping? increase the bushy-ness of the plant causing more nodes for fruit/vegetables to spro...

Re: 2019 | What did you do with your lawn today?

I think for an entire lawn the proof will be in the "multi-year use" pudding. I used the bio stimulant pack last year and while i can say i noticed some improvement with the air8, it would be hard pressed for me to visually identify any improvements other than that product. If you watch The lawn car...

Re: Looking for feedback on my 2019 Bermuda 'plan'

Just wanted to chime in that i grew up in Paris. I agree with the glyphosate route, and agree that caution should be made to make sure you're bermuda is fully dormant. You may want to look into using a PGR since you have a newborn. This will be the first year for me to use it. I'm hoping the PGR wil...

damage could have also been due to army worms. There was a bad wave of army worms last year and if they went unnoticed/untreated they could devastate a lawn in no time.

i'd be willing to bet the grip tape on amazon would be 1/16 of the cost of "Toro" grip tape.

Bermuda Cultivar ID

I could have potentially hijacked another thread but instead chose to clutter up the front page with my own. When my house was sodded in 2016 i asked what type of bermuda was being layed and they shrugged their shoulders and said "Bermuda". I've always been under the impression it's common but was c...
