New garden on top of bermuda

I am adding like 60sq ft of new raised garden beds to my garden. Bermuda grass is currently in the location although dormant. My raised beds will be 18”-24” high. I plan to not disturb the existing soil. Lay cardboard. Then fill with garden soil / compost. Is that a good strategy to combat bermuda o...

Are you managing the timers for just the common areas or every property in the HOA?

If they aren’t already, I’d look into smarter timers where internet service is available. Rain sensors on the ones that cannot access the ‘net.
Just the common areas.

Advice on managing HOA’s turf maintenance company

I am taking over my HOA’s landscaping committee. One of the many things I would like to tackle is to improve some of our common areas. The service seemingly does a pretty good job with weed management and cutting. Some areas could use some supplemental fertilizer help. 1. Wondering what is the best ...

Re: 2021 Bermuda to PRG overseed

I am also blotchy looking. First time doing this. Think it is a result of not scalping low enough and lack of rain and no irrigation. Been manually watering. https://i.postimg.cc/Y9RTKWsk/36851-DDC-E90-F-4-D23-AE04-89358-BEE020-F.jpg Looks decent from far. Only prg in the hood. https://i.postimg.cc/...

Pondless waterfall pump

Any waterfall experts out there? Might be installing one this spring. Do these systems really cost $1k+? Seems a bit high for a pump and liner. Not sure on volume I need. Run length will be about 9 feet and drop will be about 3 feet.

Re: Seeding in pre-em treated lawn

Re-seeded for second time on 11/11 (3 months after prodiamine). Did manual aeration with a yard butler type thing and verticutted again with sunjoe. Been 3 weeks and almost nothing has germinated. Been having some frosts which I bet doesnt help. My question now is, will the seed have the ability to ...

Re: First time overseeding and need help

In regards to what g-man mentioned, perhaps you just keep your starter fertilizing to foliar apps only so it doesnt impact your soil composition? (Meaning dont apply granular Phosphorus to hurt the centipede) Where it is growing well clearly appears where your low spots or extra aeration/seeding was...

Re: 2021 Bermuda to PRG overseed

First time doing prg overseed. Seeing yellowing tips. Seeded around Oct 1. Frost damage? Had two frosts in past week or so. I also battle fungus with the bermuda. Last applied propoconizole maybe a month ago. And applied starter fert a week after seeding. Nothing else. https://i.postimg.cc/br2Z4Z3Y/...

Re: Pellet Grills

Since these pellet grills incorporate electrical components, how do they hold up against the rain? Obviously you want them covered but overnight unattended smoking, are you worried about popup rain showers?

Re: Wanting to aerate lawn but leaves are dropping

Most important part to success is getting seed to soil. Damp ground in advance is a bonus. It would help soften the soil and allow the aerator to go deeper. I would do the aerate regardless of rain (could also run sprinklers heavy in your bad spots) and a full leaf cleanup in advance. Cut lower than...

Do you guys have issues with rye in your deeper sanded areas? Noticing those spots the grass is dried out / grayish looking.

Re: Acmccart8's Bluemuda Lawn Journal

Love the updates. How does the north side of your house do with the KBG? If the side of your house faces north like mine, bermuda is thin during summer. Wondering if KBG fills it in throughout year.

Re: Possible for advice on SiteOne soil test results? southern Massachusetts

ProG is half compost so it is pointless to apply now at lower temps. The other half is biochar and the ROI on that is TBD. And the price of product has increased significantly. Pass.

Re: Seeding in pre-em treated lawn

Rest of my yard (no prodiamine) is sprouting nicely. Been watering 3x per day at 5mins each. Had it on the -10 position on the sunjoe but its really just a scratching of the surface. Might just run over it again a few more times. I do have a hand held aerator I could plug some. And will throw down s...

Seeding in pre-em treated lawn

On 8/5 my neighbors common bermuda seed washed into my yard. I applied a 4 month rate of prodiamine to prevent it from germination. Forgot I was going to overseed this fall. Treated area is about 10x20. What is the best way to get rye to germinate without harming my tiftuf too much? Heavy compost? I...

I had bad SDS in 2019. Last fall I applied this time of year and I was fine this spring. Apply when soil is between 60-70 degrees from what I just searched. Thanks for the reminder!!
