Re: New user looking for any advices

You wrote that you are watering every morning and evening for 10 minutes. I think that is one lf your problems. You are watering too often and too little. 3cm/1inch every week. Maybe split so you do 15mm twice a week. Preferbly in the morning. Check sprinklers or watering device and see how much yo...

Re: Adjusting height

That is your sewer clean out. Sure, you could have it put even in a box, if the riser is high enough to do that. Most people have it in a flowerbed next to the house. I moved mine from indoors (ooooold house) to outdoors when I had my old sewer line replaced. http://myhomeupgrades.com/wp-content/upl...

Re: Why I dislike Endless Summer and other pink/blue hydrangeas

I just realize that you live in Atlanta. My dislike is specific to the COLDER ZONES that the Endless Summer hydrangea and other reblooming pink/blue hydrangeas are marketed towards. These are marketed towards people in zones where this type of hydrangea usually has an unreliable bloom because the ne...

Re: Why I dislike Endless Summer and other pink/blue hydrangeas

Ours are poppin this year, probably bc we didn’t do ANY pruning on them. But they also need an ideal planting location ...good early morning/afternoon sun with late-afternoon shade. The ones that get full sun tend to get droopy on us. https://i.postimg.cc/Y9KcJm40/6-C89285-E-055-E-4-F43-98-E3-BD812...

I haven't had a problem before with pelleted prodiamine. It's one of the things I don't sweep off my drive. Our soil is extremely high in iron and all our concrete gets a little stained yellow, so that might be why I can't notice a difference, though.

The neighbor needs to walk there to trim the hedge so keep that in mind. If you need door swing space, I would leave it as sod.

Re: SEPARATING YARD ON ACREAGE WITH LANDSCAPING

Arbs will screen the coop. Use green giants because deer don't like them.

Goldenrain tree does well in Eugene and looks gorgeous for along the road. This isn't about screening off the property but framing it.

Why I dislike Endless Summer and other pink/blue hydrangeas

This is specific to zone 7 and lower. These plants can still be beautiful in mixed borders, but they make terrible foundation shrubs because they are ugly in winter, and because they need old growth to make good blooms,.you can't cut them back until you know what is really dead. In addition, though ...

Does any of this stuff stain pavers or cement? I've been hesitant to use anything on the stuff growing between my pavers and have just been hand pulling but it's becoming too time consuming.
No.

Re: SEPARATING YARD ON ACREAGE WITH LANDSCAPING

I would start by putting a line of trees between the fence and the road, personally. :) All the same type. You like grass, so pick something like an eastern redbud or crape myrtle, not something dense.

Chicken Coop could be behind a line of shrubs.

Any reason why I can't spray chelated iron, and "super seaweed humic acid blend" at the same time/mixed together in the sprayer?
Not unless it is too thick. Some seaweed stuff is already really thick.

Re: New lawn help, tier 1 knowledge (prob .5)

Thanks for the reply. I don't need something like Scott's turf builder starter to get rid of crab Grass? There will be about 4 to 6 inches of top soil so that could be good for the organic material i assume. Sure, you can use that to discourage weeds, if you like. It's not really the major season f...

Re: New lawn help, tier 1 knowledge (prob .5)

I'd just start with whatever seed you want to go with. It probably won't take great in the heat, but whatever takes, you don't want to have to get rid of and start over, right? With new construction, any level of organic matter you can get on the lawn will help. Jonathan Green's Black Beauty mix is ...

Re: Lawndress's Shady Nook 2021

Texas has to be tough. How much/often do you water and fertilize? I’m still getting the hang of it. Oh, I'm new Washington, DC now. lol. Texas was super easy. Had St Augustinegrass and an irrigation system. That's basically cheating. I hand-weeded some obnoxious daisy-like weeds, but other than tha...

Yep, let's keep adding supina posts to this thread!

Much of my FF is fully dormant now. Very irritating.

My yard got hideous dead spots when I let the boys mow and they would let the wheels of the tractor spin on damp grass!

Re: How to recover from mowing too low?

at least they were trying to be nice, I have neighbors that are pushing 450 each and too lazy to put their mower in reverse the 1x per month they do it maybe and decide to make a big loop scalping the the ground the entire way as they turn around in my yard. Just when I think I have them stopped, i...
