Re: Lawn Tool Organization Ideas?

I use the gladiator track system. Put as many tracks as you want per wall. I did 2 on one side and 4 on the other side of garage. Plus i added tracks in other random places throughout. I like it because I am constantly rearranging and moving things around. High initial cost though, but once all of ...

Re: Fall Leaves....Equipment Approaches

Another cool season here. I always mulch. My rear border is woods and Ive got about 12 mature deciduous trees throughout my property. Sometimes I will bag leaves from an area with more trees then re-mulch them in an area with less trees. Free carbon! Ive also bagged neighbors leaves for them and the...

Re: Anyone have a mattress they like?

Just read through all this and went to look at some pricing. It looks like sleepnumber is 50% off right now which seems too good to be true. I am currently on a Sealy mattress I bought out of college that was $600 for the mattress, box spring and frame haha. Maybe its time to upgrade.

Re: Spraying and neighbors...

I try to be cognizant and not spray if neighbors are out even if they are upwind from me. I only spray in the evenings as well. Almost all my neighbors have some company come and spray and they do it at any time of day whether or not people are around. Its the "pros" that need to be more careful if ...

Re: Any Formula 1 Racing Fans?

I didnt even know there was a F1 thread on the TLF! This is great news. Its been quite an exciting year so far if you ignore the most recent "race". Hopefully the second half can give us the same excitement as the first half the the year.

I had that head on my old gas string trimmer and had good luck with the Husqvarna line. ProjectFarm has a video where I think his #1 was Maxpower Twisted

Well, that’s been the thesis for this entire process of building. Hard knocks university. Grass growing has been no exception.
If its any consolation, buying and trying to renovate a 100 year old house by yourself is also full of fun times.

Agreed with Harts, as usual.

If you need a second set of eyes and are somewhat close to Livonia (not hands, mine are full) let me know.

Re: A rudderless ship; help!

Another Michigander. Welcome. I overseeded a small area on the 21st. My soil is similarly basic and I have little to no issues growing grass. The clay we have here in Michigan also shouldnt be an issue. I am actually on a sand/loam area FWIW. Here is what I would do in your shoes. Try to follow the ...

Its all about seed count so definitely double the usual KBG rate if the seed weighs 2x as much.

Re: ISO the best mower to handle hilly terrain

My big concern with that machine is they are self branding that engine which means it's probably a China special. Also no information on who makes the drive motor. No information on ground speed. How long is an all aluminum deck going to last? Is 4" high enough for how you maintain your TTTF? How w...

Sept 3-5 seed down in Nj doesnt seem thag late.
For bluegrass its definitely on the late side. Especially if you have any issues with washout or germination and you have to try again.

I guess I just didn't know about it.. Where can I get it? I've tried big box store "this will kill Ground Ivy & CC" with little results, so I suppose I was just trying to kill it off without having to really deal with it again?
Look at DoMyOwn. Quick link at the top of the page.

Re: Painting Ground Ivy with Gly

I had an area that was nothing but poison ivy and grape vines and I used a combination of glyphosate and triclopyr and it still took about 4 apps to get it to a place I was satisfied. Then I did a dormant seed last winter. It came up decent enough. Depending on how bad you area is, why not just use ...

Re: 2.5 Acre Lawn - Need advice

I definitely dont have as big a lot as you (~0.5 acres of grass on a ~1 acre lot) but I know it would be a huge PITA to try to commit to an overseed without irrigation on my entire lot. So far, I have overseeded 2 sections and reno'd another section totaling about 10k sq/ft over the past two years. ...

Re: Renovation guide (cool season) - SPF30 KBG and fine fescue reno

Hi Folks, I am doing a lawn renovation and plan to seed with a 50/50 mix of SPF30 KBG and a fine fescue (creeping red). What should I put down when I drop the seed to fertilize and prevent weeds from growing back in? I have read that I cannot use tenacity until after the fine fescue germinates, as ...

Re: Ego Power+ Equipment Discussion

I just picked up an almost brand new EGO 21in mower with bagger and 7.5ah battery for a steal on FBM yesterday and I smiled basically the entire time while I mowed my front yard. Its like an RC car with a blade haha. Is FBM the FaceBook Marketplace? Congrats on the steal! Were they moving or someth...
