Re: Hydretain for new St Augustine sod

I would not water at 3:00. I would wait until 6 or so. You will loose a lot less to evaporation

Re: Weed burner

Thank you for all the replies. It’s in the mid 90s for the foreseeable future. How hot is too hot for Celsius. Also should just spot spray for now and when is the best time for prem.

Weed burner

I live in western central Florida. My front yard is primarily SA unknown subtype. Also most of the yard is potentially in the root zone of two very old live oaks so most of the chemical weed killers would damage the oaks. Would a weed torch be a good idea? Chemical on hand are msm atrazine and amd13...

Re: PLEASE HELP!! New Homeowner with ugly lawn

I would start by killing the weeds starting to come up in the dead areas and if allowed put down a good fertilizer. Then if sod is out of the budget get a couple of trays of plugs starting in the front yard. You won’t need to water as much since it is rainy season. You can keep adding plugs as timer...

Re: New SA yard with disease

If I can jump in with a secondary question. When you bag the diseased grass do you compost it or throw it in trash,

Re: HAM Radio

I had a friend turn his rain gutter into an antenna to keep it hideous from the Homeowner association. He was able to reach both Canada and South America with his setup .

That looks like illegal dumping to me. I would file police report and complain to the BBB and pissedoffcustamer.com

Re: Climing ferns?

Will msm harm bougainvillea?

Can I mix msm with roundup? (Easier to spell than chemical name) :)

Climing ferns?

I asked this in warmer lawns but received no response I believe these are climbing ferns. I have applied roundup but it seems that only the leaves that are touched by the roundup die and it keeps growing. These are pictures of it in my bougainvillea. When I try to pull it by hand it just breaks off ...

Re: Iron/Manganese combo without Nitrogen

Home Depot here in Pinellas has an iron and magnesium product that they sell here in the summer made by Sunnyland. No nitrogen is allowed to be applied from a June 1 until September 30 so it does not leach into the bay. Also if you sweep it off the sidewalk before you water it in it it should not st...

Re: Favorite/Best Way to Cook Bacon?

I like 3.5. My favorite way is in a cast iron skillet over a camp fire. Since I can’t do that very often anymore we usually bake it in the oven. For quick jobs in the microwave.

Re: Wet shaving?

I hope you don’t mind a new member jumping in. I have been wet shaving since 2013. I got tired of paying so much for cartridges. I am using a Parker 96r razor. I have been using feather and Astro platinum blades. I get more cuts and nicks with the feather blades when new, but one will last me 2 week...

Climing ferns

I am having an issue with Japanese climbing fern. I sprayed it with roundup as per the uf web site but it is only killing the actual leaves sprayed. I was thinking about adding a suficacant to my next mix of roundup. Any other thoughts? https://i.postimg.cc/Jhvfvc6S/20201126-114818.jpg https://i.pos...

Brown Patch in St Augusetine.

I am new to the forum but not to St Augusetine grass. I grew up with it . I currently live in Eastern pinellas county which is near Tampa Fl. I have been in my house for 10 years and occasionally have seen some fungus issues. Usually spray garden safe 3 in one or bioadvance 3 in one fertilizer and i...
