Re: Robert's 2020 Lawn Journal

Looking good still. I basically had no clippings on the manual reel mow today. Crazy weather we are having so far. Thanks! I think grass catcher was about half full of clippings, so the lawn has definitely slowed. I'm just waiting for the weather to cool off, but until then I'm enjoying these bonus...

Temps in the 70s today. Mowed and pulled out all of my annuals. Sprinklers have been winterized. Inching closer to next year’s renovation.

I’ll vote on Election Day, but that brisket looks good. Ghost pepper BBQ sauce and I’d be all set.
That'll certainly burn twice.
Without sharing TMI, it never burns inbound, but 8 hours later is another story,
LOL. It's always worth it in the end (no pun intended).

That is a great video. Unless I missed it, how would TTTF self repair for divots? That seems like a pretty big deal for fairways and they didn't touch on it.
I'm guessing they added the KBG for that purpose, but that's a great question.

Re: What's Grilling/Smoking?

It’s not grilling or smoking but I made Detroit Style pizza tonight. The kids were home for dinner so it was a big hit. Quite different from normal pizza. Bread flour for the crust. I used Havarti as the traditional cheese used, Brick, is not available here. The small pizza had a nice crispy crust....

Re: 2020 Cool Season Lawn Reno Forum

Anyone else battling skunks?! Every few days I wake up and find divots of ripped up grass. Nothing too significant yet, but awaiting the morning I inspect the lawn and fall over face first in disgust. I don’t think putting down grub killer will have much of an impact now. And I’m not even sure they...

Re: Thinner bladed KBG mix recommendations

I would check out some of the cultivar leaf texture scores here . I know that Blue Note has a finer leaf texture, but isn't as dark as some of the wider bladed cultivars. I have some pictures somewhere on my PC showing pots of Mazama (5.4 texture score) vs. Bluebank(5.5 texture score) and they look ...

Re: Stuofsci02’s lawn journal. Greensmaster Flex 21 for 2020

Damage doesn't look too bad. Lack of rain this fall is obnoxious, my water bill is hurting. Yeah.... we need the rain in a bad way. The lawn will recover. More pissed at myself... I know better... We got really lucky with a bout of lake effect rain a few weeks ago. Dropped almost 3". Obnoxious is t...

Took the day off today, so why not mow? 3/4” HOC. Triv lighting up fluorescent green. Still some thin spots due to the sprinkler install, but not at all concerned about it. Getting my game plan ready for next year’s renovation. https://i.postimg.cc/xTm2QhRz/2-D04-BEAC-928-B-4-B96-8124-48-AB2-B246677...

Wow! For not even a month after germination that looks outstanding. Nice job!

This definitely gives me hope for my reno next year. I'm leaning toward Bewitched, but that Mazama is going to look great.
