Re: Woodworking

Moved up from a jobsite saw this year and woodworking is overtaking the lawn moving forward. Have the lawn process in place and it's on autopilot now. Jet 10" Hybrid supersaw ($900) and North State 8" jointer ($400) are my recent additions: https://i.postimg.cc/52cYsFKK/IMG-20200508-214406.jpg https...

Re: Super Sack of Sand?

I just priced it out previously and it was 10X the price of anything else for the same material. I'd get it dumped and throw a tarp on it.

However, other members have used the sacks with good success, so definitely an option.

Re: MP Rotator Renovation

Download AutoCAD and use it for free as a student. I would install a branch off the main/house connection instead of running it off a hose bib that's been regulated before coming into the house; 45 psi is quite low.

I reel mow and aim for the soil to be level or slightly higher than the adjacent sidewalk/driveway.

PelletPro Nozzle

For those who have bought the pellet pro, what type of nozzle did you end up going with? It comes with the CloudBurst and I was wondering why the water barely came out until I realized it was rated for ~35GPM. My spigot is about 6GPM at 80PSI or so. I was debating sticking with my standard 4" brass ...

Re: Big Green Egg

At least for my 24" pit boss, a "spider" is required for direct heat cooks. The normal grate sits too high to see the not much direct heat/flame unless you really pole on the charcoal I guess. This sits in the ceramic lip to lower the cooking surface and I bought a 3rd party stainless grate to sit o...

Re: What's Grilling/Smoking?

About 5 hours anywhere from 200-250°F on the kamado (no wrap) with mostly hickory and a chunk of mesquite. Had to close out in the oven with charcoal running out. Finished with some sweet baby Ray's on one rack and stick fingers on the other.

Re: What's Grilling/Smoking?

I got my first smoker over the weekend, and I'm super excited to use it. On a brisket, how many people can you feed per pound? I watched Malcom Reed do a 16 lb. brisket and the dang thing was $63. I would hope to feed a couple family's for $63 in meat. Yield could be anywhere from 50%-75% of purcha...

Re: What's Grilling/Smoking?

And if you want to spend a bit less but stick with a kamado, look for pit boss or Louisiana Grill brand. Got my 24" for $650. You might want to replace the felt gasket with a mesh one later and get accessories but starts you off cheap. The one thing j recommend for sure is a "spider" that sits on th...

Re: How did you get started in lawn care?

You still have the mower from your dad? No, that mower threw a connecting rod later on. Shot it right through the side casing on the motor. It happened to my Dad after I had gone on to college. I think he simply forgot to check the oil.... :| I saw it when I came home for Christmas. It had been sit...

Re: Wagner Paint Sprayer for Cedar Fence Sealer

Ive had great results with the Wagner Flexio, painted my home gym walls that are poured concrete. Made the job fast and easy. Started with a roller and took too long and used up too much paint. With the Wagner Flexio I was able to do a 20x20 gym in a 1-2 hrs You're supposed to backroll after sprayi...

Re: Milorganite 2020

The only positives I see from Milorganite or any organic is being able to put it down without watering it in shortly after and that the phosphorous is low % WEP, so it barely leaches.

I've moved onto GreenTRX and it's a much better $/lb of N.

Re: TruCut Reel Mower Questions

I looked through the thread, and may have missed if this has already been posted. What's the best method for changing the oil on a 27" with Honda GX120 4.0 Engine? The set up for this doesn't seem ideal. Also, how much oil does it generally take? I also seem to have a little bit of surging in the e...

Only negative I see if that it's not chelated from what I can tell.

FAS would probably be cheaper if you were so inclined but I haven't done the math:

Re: 419 Lawn Reno planning..

I'd nuke in layers starting from where your 419 starts and possibly kill a little 419 so any stragglers coming in already get smoked. Then divide it into however many sections you're comfortable with at a time. I'd apply glypho, wait a week, and re-apply. Make sure the common and weeds are dead befo...
