Re: Minimum size air compressor ?

Thank you all for commenting...... I decided to hire a local company to do it for $75. One less job I have to do, $75/year seems very reasonable and the liability is on them.

Minimum size air compressor ?

This will be my first year blowing out the sprinkler lines. It’s not long runs.....4 zones over 2k
Sqft. So I’m shopping for an air compressor. What size can I get away with w/o breaking the bank?

PGR or no PGR

I struggled this summer with fungus/ heat stress......lost or thinned out some areas of my Kbg lawn. I’m in the middle of spoon feeding 0.25-0.50 N/1M sqft weekly to recover and thicken things up. I’m wondering if pgr would help or should I skip it and keep mowing. What’s the best way to get some ti...

Re: De thatching one year old KBG

@ken-n-nancy Thank you for the detailed explanation. ... I have a rain bird system. Can someone explain what the “cycle and soak” feature is on my system? You're welcome. Hopefully somebody else can provide some advice concerning the "cycle and soak" feature that you have. I have a Hunter system, s...

Re: De thatching one year old KBG

NJ-Lawn, that looks exactly what my KBG areas look like. I’ve traced it down to be pythium rot or blight. Almost all lawns in my neighborhood had this issue and since your in NJ you know how bad the humidity and summer night storms we got. I had a pretty good fungicide program this year and the pyt...

Re: De thatching one year old KBG

ken-n-nancy Thank you for the detailed explanation. I now know I failed at getting one inch per week this summer. I thought I had a fungus issue but I’m fairly certain it was lack of enough water. It was a very hot summer and I had many dry spots which killed off parts of the lawn. I have a rain bi...

Re: De thatching one year old KBG

Thanks guys.....I do have a pro plugger so I’ll get on that this weekend. I guess my biggest issue is getting an audit on the sprinklers. I don’t think I’m getting enough water down. The company that did the install in June told me any more than 1/2 hour at a time, I’ll get a lot of run off.

Re: De thatching one year old KBG

Well that area got hit pretty hard with fungus or dead from the brutal summer we had. I wasn’t 100% sure why it died off. I thought removing the dead grass would let more water and oxygen down into the soil. I’m still trying to get a good regular watering system down. I watered each zone for 45 min....

De thatching one year old KBG

I usually keep my questions short, this is no exception LOL. I’m a former tttf guy so this time year I’m usually overseeding. I just de thatched my year old KBG. It looks really beat up. I am spoon feeding AMS every week. Can someone reassure me this will fill in? Lol.... this is one of the worse sp...

Bought this 7 yrs ago......... https://www.intermountainturf.com/docke ... icide.html

Rusty generator tank

Well I left a little gas in my generator and forgot about it, in the back of the shed. So now it doesn’t start. I plan on rebuilding the carb but the tank seems to be a big problem. I tried https://www.homedepot.com/p/Evapo-Rust-1-Gal-Safe-Rust-Remover-ER012/206639586 Soaked in the tank for 3 days, ...

Repair summer damage

I had some kbg die from fungus/summer heat. What’s the plan for repair? Should I spoon feed weekly (.25 lb /1M sqft) or should I hit it a little heavier with N less often?

Re: Mystery GFCI Outlet

@NJ-lawn thanks for all the info. I ended up getting an electrician out because I was @ my end. The issue ended up being chaffed wires under the house. The staples holding the wires in place had stripped the wires and caused the outlets to fail. Yeah that ideally should trip the breaker. For that m...
