Re: Average Lawn Square Footage

Small...until I start contemplating the work of a Reno (and end up with an overseed). 10,000 ft. gets bigger each year.

Re: Kasberjr1 Lawn Journal (Renovation) - Nashville, TN

Good luck. I held off this year because of this late heat too. Hope I get lucky...not throwing seed until next week

Re: Heat wave

Yeah. I was going to throw seed down in my reno spots. However, it was like 95 (?) today. I think I'm targeting later in the week now. I'm worried about falling off a temp cliff too. Average soil temps the last few years have held into the 60s into late October though so I guess I'm chancing it on t...

That works too. I don't have a dethatcher so I rent the aerator. Looking forward to seeing your progress and success.

Re: Help with Overseed!

I disagree. If he clears out the thatch so he gets soil contact leaving the plugs on the lawn will aid with soil coverage. Split the seed volume in half...drop half...aerate...add remaining volume and top dress.

Re: Help with Overseed!

I agree. Seed evenly...everywhere. Against a lot of people's opinions, I say aeration and seed over the whole thing.

@jp@JP900++ Call me crazy! It drives me nuts with the different growth rates and reactions to pgr amongst many other things. :|
Yeah I agree. I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat. Mine looks uniform for a day or two after mowing. That's the price of genetic diversity I guess.

Re: Best TTTF + KBG Seed?

University of Missouri recommends 90% tttf and 10% kbg for repairability. I just bought a 50lb bag of Super Turf 2 from United Seed in Omaha Nebraska, which based on my research will be a really good overseed for my area and most of the transition zone as well. Any concern the KBG won't germinate i...

True. They are costly, but over the last decade or so I have had nothing but good experiences with him. Give him a call. He'll answer and probably try to work it out with you. He has always been very accommodating.

Re: Best TTTF + KBG Seed?

@phaseshift I used 4th Millennium for last year's overseed. I also added Bewitched and Blue Note the year before. I know a lot of people here are unsure of the merits of overseeing with bluegrass. I'm on the fence since some took but may have been lost in the crowd by now. Love the 4th Millennium th...

Re: Menards - First Time Visit

Devil's advocate. One reason the big boxes are so convenient is due to lack of smaller options because they have eliminated them. I'd be a hypocrite if I said I don't shop there, but I try to avoid it. Menards amuses me because the only thing to take a Lowe's is a bigger (sqr ft) version of Lowe's.

I use the Firestick for Kodi/Cinema (free movies and shows) and for Amazon Prime video. It's a decent little android box. What site/skin? I need to update ours. I had abandoned my Kodi until I found the BK Box build. That made mine useful again. "Build" ... that was the word escaping me. I'll have ...

Firestick is $15. I want one but with a smart tv, two rokus, and an Apple TV not sure there is much benefit. Any thoughts?
