Re: new lawn is different colors...HELP

the lab did not have a specific recommendation for lime app. i did apply lime at time of seeding and use the bag rates for corrective measures. honestly i cannot remember how much i put down, shame on me for not writing it down. what does CEC mean? I got frustrated on finding a fast acting nitrogen...

Re: Fall Nitrogen Blitz (cool season grasses only)

In early fall much of the Nitrogen from Urea is lost to denitrification, ammonia volatization and nitrate leaching due to moist/warm soil conditions, and fall precipitation. Can you explain what is not accurate about early fall Urea loss? I suppose I should not reference just fall as this would als...

Re: new lawn is different colors...HELP

How many pounds of lime per Ksqft the lab recommends? What is the CEC? You should be using a fast nitrogen source.

If you can't afford a failure, then I would throw PRG.

It looks like nimble will but if it is Bermuda, aeration will spread it. I would skip it and do the tenacity / pylex and seed tomorrow.

I've seen something like that from Milorganite. Is it thru the entire yard?

I would sample the soil in your house instead of using a sample for the neighborhood. Something is very odd with these test.

Re: Fall Nitrogen Blitz (cool season grasses only)

This year I wanted to try the approach @osuturfman explained in the past. It leverages slow release fert earlier in the season. I've used XGRN which has some fast and some slow. I did do one app of MAP and AMS in early September. My last N app for the year was 24sept from XGRN.

Re: Fall Nitrogen Blitz (cool season grasses only)

In early fall much of the Nitrogen from Urea is lost to denitrification, ammonia volatization and nitrate leaching due to moist/warm soil conditions, and fall precipitation. This is not accurate and more so in Canada weather with native soils. I think though a lot of it has to do with application t...

Re: I’m at a loss

An inch a week is not enough during summer and tree root areas need more.

Azoxy doesn't protect to DS. Propi does, but every 6 weeks and repeated applications are likely not effective.

Re: Feature/Main Event

High pH soils need foliar iron. It can be from FS or chelated. If no driveway/concrete, then no need to use chelated.

Most of the images are out of focus. It is hard to know what image is July vs now. You should rotate fungicides. Looks like dollar spot damage. What is the right amount of water?

Re: Turf type tall fescue reno bleached white

Whatever was in the hose from the pump to the tip of the wand will be at the original unknown concentration. I run clear water thru all my hoses when I'm done spraying. I also run my mix thru the hose back into the tank to ensure the hose has the correct tank mixture before I start spraying.

Re: Turf type tall fescue reno bleached white

No i’m sorry I mis spoke when I said ounces of tenacity. I used the syringe that came with the bottle of tenacity and filled it to the 2-2.5 teaspoons line , not ounces. The typical rate is 0.5 teaspoons into a gallon sprayed to 1000sqft. If you used that much, 2-2.5teaspoons, into a smaller area, ...

Re: Lawn redo

I think your germination with the JG will be fine given that your temps will be in the 60's for the next 2 weeks. Continue to keep your seed moist regardless of how much rain you have recieved. This will allow faster germination. What type of fertilizer did you use? The high air temperature is irre...

Re: Lawn redo

The aeration plugs are very dry. That tells me that you are not watering enough. You need to keep the area constantly moist.

But it is very late in the season. It is cold and success would be very slim.

Re: Turf type tall fescue reno bleached white

It has the path of a sprayer. Did you started sprayer the border first?

What other stuff have you spray using the same tank? Round up? I don't think it is just meso causing an issue here.

Try to mow this area at 2in and feed it a granular nitrogen to help in recovery.
