Re: Winter Glyphosate/Killing off Common Bermuda

I would spray areas of my dormant Bermuda in January each year to kill off fescue clumps and other weeds. It didn't do anything to the Bermuda but give it room to run when it warmed up in my case, which was my goal.

Re: Pellet Grills

Mine isn't pellet, but still has electric components, so I'll throw a 10x10 pop up tent over it and shield a couple sides if the wind/rain is coming.

Just mowing, although it’s been pretty nice with a mow every 3-4 days and no pgr. Still green!
Doing better than me... I'm once a week now over (up/down?) in Cobb.

Re: PRG Seed Recommendations

I would guess some of it depends on your goals and purpose. Last year, I went with the hype and bought seed from Hancock Seed. All I really am after is bare soil coverage for the winter months with my dog running around. In the spring, I killed it all off. So not being a front yard showcase, the Han...

Re: World Series - Game 4

I second that! Also been admiring the grass during the games at Truist the whole time assuming it was a top tier cultivar of Bermuda. They said Bermuda was too fast This SP is and has been a lime green It looks dark green on my tv, probably just the setting I have turned on. By fast, I’m assuming t...

Re: Retaining wall

That's going to look good when you're done. I don't envy you. I had a similar original setup, but more poorly done with cut 4x4s. I bought some of the stone, but never could convince myself to go through with the work. I sold the house with the stone piled up in front of the wall.

Re: Poor Lawn Service

My biggest fear was over applying fertilizer or not applying it evenly, getting those dreaded fertilizer lines. I overcame that fear by using a spreader to apply my own fungicide and seeing it wasn’t that hard when I did the math, weighed the product and took my time walking. I was worried about th...

Re: Generic glyphosate vs. Roundup

With the size of my property, I never use much spot spray product be it non-selective or selective. So moving forward I should probably just mix 1 qt. batches instead of 1 gallon. But I will still do some experimenting with the mix just to see what happens. This was tough for me to learn when I wen...

How long do they take you to do? And how long is the art generally visible after you do it?

Re: To Halloween, Or Not To Halloween?

Well, I'm letting her have her way for sure. Last year, we stocked up on decorations you can stake into the ground. Those are in the flower beds. I'm really digging the idea of Halloween lights. 👍🏼 But I'm just not too crazy about the blow ups I'm seeing at Home Depot or Lowe's. 😄 Last year's Hallo...

Re: To Halloween, Or Not To Halloween?

All of my (wife's) stuff goes in the islands. The only thing that crosses the lawn is an extension cord. I also put up my Christmas light strands on the house that Ware sold everyone on here from Christmas Designers and use "Halloween" colored bulbs (purple, orange, green, whatever) and then I go sw...

Re: A way to keep folks off your lawn

I sent this to my wife yesterday... I live in a cul de sac, not on the corner like the video. But I have one guy that insists on walking his two dogs (one is rather large) through people's yards. We have a sidewalk that goes up one side that he won't use. He'd much rather walk through everyone's law...

Re: Adding Ceiling Air Supply for Home HVAC?

How about a window unit or free standing portable unit just for the bedroom? I have one like this that I bought when I lived in a rental that had poor air flow, but I still run it in my current house at night so I can keep my bedroom cooler than the rest of the house. https://www.homedepot.com/p/LG-...
