Re: PRG and KBG

It would make your lawn more inconsistent since you're adding a different grass type that will probably be a slightly different color and a different growth rate. Like mentioned above, a big benefit of PRG is how quickly it establishes, but you just did a 100% KBG reno so that shouldn't matter. In g...

How can I catch Home Depot's store-local clearance sales when they're getting rid of lawn stuff for the year?

I assume Home Depot will want to cheaply sell off their fertilizer and other lawn products to make way for in-season stuff. Most of the mentions of deals I see on here are local to specific stores. Do these clearance specials up in the weekly ads on homedepot.com? Is there some other way to catch th...

I'm feeling a bit better about this given all the replies. I still regret not seeding early/mid August, thou...

Day 10 and kbg germination is still pathetic, is this normal?

I seeded Mazama 10 days ago. I topdressed with peat and have been watering 5x a day and keeping the seed moist. Maybe 10% of the ground is covered with half inch tall sprouts. I've read kbg can take a couple of weeks to germinate, but I figured that was for full germination. In my case the majority ...

Re: Timemaster owners a moment please...

Dan1234 is right about oil changes being a pain, but I got this cheap oil pump and it's so convenient. No more tipping and it's much more clean. Cut quality is great and I have no complaints there. I get some grass clumping in the wet spring, but that might not be the timemaster's fault. I rarely b...

@Pologuy 22ksqft with a backpack will be a workout. Why not granular? I was thinking the same thing. Thats what prompted me to go with the humic granular. I thought it would breakdown with water like Anderson's DG. It gets expensive trying to add N. Trying to figure out more cost effective ways. I ...

If you have some, I would add AMS to the water and mix it before adding the glyphosate.
What is the significance of the order they are mixed together?

Re: Watering

That is the goal, but it seems there is some wiggle room. Either grass seed takes longer to dry out than people think (maybe it's dry to the touch but holding water internally?) or grass seed actually can dry out to some degree before dying off. Like I said, most people aren't watering every 2 hours...

Re: Watering

Every 2 hours is too often, try every 3-4. Top dressing with peat moss will help germination, help moisture retention, and give you a visual indicator of when it is dry (since it turns a darker color when moist). Consider getting a sprinkler timer to automate watering, it attaches to your hose and c...

Re: Anyone else using Ammonium sulfate??

You don't hear much about it because it's kind of a pain to use as your main fertilizer. It's 100% quick release so the effect is gone within a few weeks to a month. Most other fertilizers last at least 6-8 weeks since they have some slow release properties. That being said, I do use it as my main ...

There's no issue with me putting prodiamine in the tank with the urea, right? https://thelawnforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4695&p=89972&hilit=grams#p89972 Is it Alligare 65WDG? Running a weed whacker down to dirt is what I've done in the past, it's pretty easy and effective at removing dead stuff. Just vacuum up all the clippings with your mower afterwards.

Re: Emergency - fire bowl burn

It's hard to say. Your best bet is to keep it watered and see what happens. I'd bet at least some of it comes back. You're entering into seeding season now so you can touch it up with an overseed if it really is gone. I was in a similar situation last season due to dumping mulch on part of my lawn ....
