Zeon Zoysia - fungus or burnout of some kind

So I did have a couple of patches of black mold a few weeks back. Maybe 3-4 patches 3-6” in diameter. I treated with Caravan which is Heritage G plus insecticide. I had also just put down fertilizer as well as milorganite. Front yard is dark green and healthy and happy. Put everything down at the sa...

Re: Please help me identify the weeds and lawn type

You have a mix of bermuda, goosegrass, crabgrass, and I forget the name of that one weed.

Id start with an application of celsius and fertilizer, and go back with Quinclorac for any of the crabgrass.

Re: Persistent Weed - Need Help

I’d try 2,4D and also Triclopyr. Crosscut was a product I used. It’s basically selective brush and weed killer.

Glyphosate kills grassy and leafy stuff well but not “stemmy “ or woody things.

Re: Will Celsius Work

Hand pulling sedge is VERY effective - it will help it multiply by 5-10x and really help it fill in. Image Kills Nutsedge is the name of the product as Image is actually a separate one. Sedgehammer is what you want though. Spray a couple days before mowing. Anything that continues to grow upright an...

Re: Invasive Weed....need an ID and remedy

Step one is don’t pluck it. Second, there’s Image, and Image Kills nutsedge. They are two separate products make sure to get IKN which has Imazequin. Third get sedgehammer instead :-) Apply it a couple of days before mowing. It will start to yellow from the tips and work it’s way down. It will take ...

6 pallets will probably cover 1200 sq ft but I’d get 7 just to be safe 😂
Zeon from the grass outlet in Texas is 450sf per pallet at $200ish a pallet.

Re: Glyphosate before sodding - waiting period

I sprayed glyphosate on weeds and Bermuda and applied sod two days later. All the sod eventually died in those areas. I re read the label on the hdx product and it said the ingredient was active for 5 days. If I had to do it again, I would do two apps and make sure I had a good week margin after th...

Re: I literally HATE my lawn and have decided to give up

Please Please PLEASE do not put down Zeon. I have it. It looks great where it looks great, and not great where it doesn’t look great. Zeon is not for the faint of heart. Or anyone within a quarter mile of a female dog. I’d consider a dry river bed, or TifTuf Bermuda. I laid down some of that that ha...

Re: Glyphosate before sodding - waiting period

I feel like there’s two questions here getting two sets of answers. 1.) as soon as it dries, or 24 hours for sure, you can lay new sod on top of treated weeds. 2.) roundup needs two weeks to work 3.) if killing for new sod I recommend 2-3 treatments spaced out for a total kill Generally I do 2 round...

Re: Bermuda pitching and chipping area

Good bermuda doesn’t come from seed. 20x20 is a little less than a pallet. A pallet of good Bermuda should be around $275 delivered, give or take delivery.
