Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Mowed yesterday afternoon, hoc still at 0.53". I sprayed my first round of pre-emergent/post-emergent last night. I'm doing 2 split apps of pre-emergent for the fall/winter. I did 0.21oz/M of prodiamine 65wdg and 0.008oz/M of MSM. I am continuing to have problems with spurge throughout the lawn so t...

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Mowed yesterday afternoon. I raised my hoc to 0.53" from 0.5". I had increased hoc a couple of weeks ago after a vacation and now another increase after lots of rain this past week. I like the way it's looking, a little better color in the 0.5" range. I'm still currently applying T-nex at 250 gdd in...

@JRS 9572 looking good man. I always enjoy the look of the turf in early fall, seems to always be shade greener.

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Thanks @JRS 9572! Oh yeah I'd say the sandy soil has helped for sure. I have been applying a rotation of contact and systemic fungicides since late May to help minimize any diseases. It has worked pretty well and kept the grass healthy.

@JRS 9572 Looking good even with the disease issues! It has certainly been a challenge with the amount of moisture this season. The new mower is awesome by the way. How are you liking the 27"?

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Thanks. Luckily I have great drainage with my sandy soil. Actually growth wasn't too bad, the gdd was a little lower the day of all the rain which maybe helped some.

@Amoo316 mainly out of precaution. It seemed pretty dead after the first couple of applications.

Re: Amoo316 Bermuda/Centipede 2 Acres

Amoo316 I did straight glyphosate to kill everything. If I remember correctly I think I did about 3 or maybe 4 applications. 2 beginning in August, 2 weeks apart with fertilizer applications in between. Removed all dead plant material then seeded rye. The following spring I did one or two more glyp...

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Got in a quick mow after work yesterday evening, two days since my last mow. I decided to go ahead and mow again after 4.5" of rain the day before. This summer has yielded plentiful amounts of rainfall. https://i.postimg.cc/dQmndRZX/PXL-20210824-001050389.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/RVSdT3c0/PXL-202108...

@Mharvey check out Southern Reel and Rotary. I've never used them personally but seems like a great option if you're in Greenville.

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Thanks ENC_Lawn ! It does help me in maintaining HOC but also spoon feeding NPK at 0.05 - 0.1 lb/M really helps a lot too. The growth stays pretty consistent unless we get several inches of rain in a few days then some additional growth can be expected. I think the Lat36 is a little less prone to sc...

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Things are continuing to look really good. The turf has thickened back up almost to where it was before the verticut a month ago which has the reel kind of floating again. We've had a lot of rain lately which is causing some additional growth. I had to go 4 days before my last mow due to rain and cl...

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

Thanks @Redtwin! Typically mowing every 3 days. The low fertility helps a lot. My current season total for NPK is 2.675lb/M.

Re: Brodgers88's Latitude 36 Bermuda Lawn

The turf has recovered nicely from the light verticutting (setting 0 on sunjoe scarifier) and mini scalp at 0.343" (lowered hoc by 1/32" from 3/8"). I skipped my last pgr app (about 250GDD=around 10days) while it was filling back in. I also mowed at the lower hoc for a couple mows before increasing ...

Re: Anyway to Remove Bermuda from Centipede?

@Amoo316 I could definitely see that 10-10-10 being a beneficial application considering the amount of phosphorus applied. I think problems could arise mostly in a high phosphorus situation of maybe applying too much over time. This season I've only fertilized my centipede with with a 16-0-0 in May...

Re: Anyway to Remove Bermuda from Centipede?

@Brodgers88 What is your mow frequency on your centipede vs your latitude 36? ENC_Lawn Centipede is mowed once every 7 days, probably could go 10 days if rainfall isn't excessive. Hoc on my centipede is 2.25". I will say the centipede looks happier mowed a little higher than when I was reel mowing ...

It looks like it could be Kikuyu but I'm no expert on that grass. Definitely not bermuda as Redtwin stated.
