Irrigation is critical. In the heat of summer the tree will win the moisture battle every time.

Re: Triv - Ligule is short sometimes

I don't have photos, but I've been pulling out Triv the past few weeks, and it does not consistently have a noticeable ligule as it's "supposed to". I don't know if this a is a time of the year thing, or what. Just a heads-up for everyone...you can't necessarily go by the ligule length to ID it. Tr...

Re: PRG and KBG

Not trying to derail the thread but it seems fairly easy to find clean elite KBG seed, that obviously comes with a high price. One thing I have noticed is finding elite PRG with “0% other crop and noxious weed”. I’ve looked into SSS and even they have don’t have a 0%. Has anyone had experience in f...

Cool temps on the way next week. Don’t sweat it this year. Eagle worked really well for me with rust.

Re: SPRING NITROGEN/FERTILIZATION BLITZ?

@MassHole two different approaches For a established lawn that it is on maintenance: A low level of N in spring is ideal. This is to keep a healthy grow, but not a vigorous grow. Why? carb reserves. The plant stores carbs during the fall in the roots. Pushing for extra grow, will consume the carbs ...

Mazama, Bewitched, Award, Nuglade KBG and a little Grand Slam GLD PRG. Very happy with this mix in my zone. Super dark, can’t wait for spring.

This one was taken on July 6th 2019. This was likely one of the best pics that I captured in 2019.

Last update of the season. Applied .25 lb per k of urea today before the rain for my last app. https://i.postimg.cc/fLqRby28/AB29978-C-53-DF-4-ACD-AAF6-631-FD3-DAA659.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/7Z1P2mtG/120226-F9-CE2-A-4-ED5-BB6-A-494-A3-C9-E57-A9.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/ZKd5TTrL/1-B7753-CB-903-B-442...

I forgot to mention that I would only be doing about 500sqft. My front lawn is very small and I could easily use a sprinkler.
Yeah mine was 16k with 30 yards of compost top dressing. You got this, no problem.

Re: 2019 | What did you do with your lawn today?

Put down .25 lbs per k of urea. Also applied RGS at 3oz per k as well as 1 tbsp of Feture per k. Might be my last app of anything as we are going to see accumulating snow this week, My KBG is super dark at the moment.

Re: Can I Reno TTTF in Spring?

It can be done. I did a KBG reno the first of June in Michigan. I fought grassy weeds and some fungus all summer. If you don’t have the budget for chemicals, wait until Fall.
