Re: Fungicide Questions

Wasn’t sure if it was mycelium or not... but that wasn’t the only thing I was looking at as an indicator of fungus in my yard. Any thoughts on the questions I asked.?

Fungicide Questions

Seems like fungus is quite the popular topic... all this rain everywhere has a fungus among us.  This was my yard a couple days ago: https://i.postimg.cc/2SPhkYJS/A9-B510-C8-241-F-4-CA4-97-DD-7-FABB42-D8559.jpg Leads me to my questions... 1. I applied propicanizole (BioAdvaced granular) a...

Re: KBG in non-irrigated Midwest?

How about any rhizomatous TTTFs? I know they exist, are they available online anywhere? SeedSuperstore or United Seeds?

Re: KBG in non-irrigated Midwest?

I was considering trying to get it into my lawn because I really like the look of it, and really like its ability to spread/thicken and repair itself. I’m happy with my TTTF... just wanted to mix it up a little.

KBG in non-irrigated Midwest?

I’m in St. Louis metro area, zone 6B, and thinking of overseeding my TTTF with KBG. I don’t have irrigation, and it does get pretty hot and humid here especially in July and August... my fescue usually goes dormant, don’t mind if KBG does as well. Anyone have success growing KBG in a non-irrigated l...

CarbonX Questions

Long story short, I put down CarbonX today (2.5 lbs / 1000 rate) and the rain we were supposed to get isn’t happening... and of course the forecast changed to be dry through at least Thursday. We want to have an egg hunt in the yard for our daughter next weekend... all leads me to a couple questions...

Just opened a bottle of Breckenridge bourbon. Really nice, especially on the rocks.

Grassy weed in overseeded areas?

It’s growing fairly think in the areas where I overseed last fall. I used peat moss as top dressing, did not use hay/straw. But I did use the Ace Hardware brand of fescue seed because I was in a pinch and needed to get it done. Help is much appreciated! https://i.postimg.cc/qMFVMFmC/A0442-BE6-0-B75-...

Re: Yard Mastery Products (XGN, XST, Carbon X and N-EXT)

Matt Martin ( thegrassfactor ) was on here in the off season explaining that his company’s products, including CarbonX, weren’t really intended for the homeowner, and he was actually hesitant to keep it on the DIY market. He started the company for professional applicators that work on sports fields...

Re: Yard Mastery Products (XGN, XST, Carbon X and N-EXT)

Golf courses still looked amazing before youtubers were pushing products. I think the comparison to golf courses is a little irrelevant because they have a lot more considerations than a homeowner. The average golf course is about 75 acres, so their scale is completely different. A golf course is a...

Re: Advice on Soil Test Results

Aerate when you top dress with compost, working the material down into (and fill up) the core holes. That’ll help with pH (to some extent), as well... and improves soil structure and gets some organics into the root zone. https://www.turfmagazine.com/general-turf-care/compost-topdressing-sustainable...

Re: XSoil & Andemite

Sightly off topic, but going to try throwing down some XSoil right after I aerate next fall (assuming it’s still in stock)... want to get all the goodness down into my clay soil.
