Don't make that a habit next person could be owning that 440 magnum next time   YOU ... ARE ... SO ... RIGHT ... ABOUT THAT! And which was the main reason my loving wife was so upset with me (and rightfully so). Before we moved way out into the SNC woods where we are now, on a real ni...

Re: Stihl Spark Boot Query w pics (BR350 Blower)

Edit: Thanks for replying Denali but, would you believe it turns out there is NO CRIMP? I know I am kinda in disbelief. Turns out there is a tiny but sharp “hook” on the end of the 2” or so length of spring steel wedged up inside the rubber boot that SIMPLY PIERCES THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE SPARK PL...

Circle-back edit and UPDATE: IF YOUR STIHL SPARK PLUG WIRE COMES SEPARATED FROM THE LENGTH OF SPRING STEEL UP INSIDE THE RUBBER SPARK PLUG BOOT (that 2” +/- length piece of spring steel internal to the rubber boot has coils that fit over spark plug on one end and a tiny but sharp “hook” on the other...

Update(s): 1) a Local and decades long home inspector buddy advises, “Yes, there are 3 types of termites - across the Continental US; HOWEVER; here in WNC we only have subterranean termites”; and, 2) My entomology major turned physician assistant sister is going with something called a "Rove Beetle....

Here are 3 more photos, from a different angle - I am really kicking myself for not getting better shots of the mouth area - all the online pics show DRY WOOD TERMITES as having pronounced pincers but, I can’t quite make any pincers out in these photos I snapped ... https://i.postimg.cc/3NnbVXYC/19-...

Termite? Is this some kind of ....

By any chance, can any member provide a 100% identification of this insect, from these photos? I came across 2 of them on our driveway, just outside the entrance to our garage - I was pulling old caulk out of some cracks in prep for re-caulking tomorrow. I didn’t think they were when I took the phot...

Re: Sprayer Cleanup

After spraying, I fill the tank with a gallon or two of water, shake it up and dump it out. Repeat. Next time when filling I'll spray out the inside real good and then dump again. Fill up a bit and flush out the hose and nozzles then empty. Put it away with the lid off to dry out. Right around my h...

LOL, if you do what I did, don’t do it where I did. I gave a mouthy neighbor a left to the nose (juuuuust enough to stun him, which it did) and a right (purposely) square on his left ear. He got the message. My screwup? I did it right in front of the paint desk in our local Lowe’s home improvement s...

Hairy bittercress: A weed to watch out for

Although I reside in WNC, I was so impressed with the Michigan State University Extension Service (roughly) biennial newsletter on preventing +/or getting rid of grubs I subscribed to the MSU ES e-mail list some years ago. As a result, I just received fact sheet on hairy bittercress and I’m posting ...

I think there is one herbicide that we should add, pylex. It is very expensive right now, but once generic, it should be a game changer like tenacity was. Hi, @g-man; just curious, has a generic for Pylex yet been introduced? Also, @Suburban Jungle Life (and all who’ve contributed); it is a challen...

Re: Chapin 20v Backpack Sprayer

Hi, bosox! I regret I am clueless as to any delay in the pump coming on although: a) I’d suspect a connection either loose or with moisture in it / on it (if you can get any connections dry using say, a hair dryer on low heat then maybe coat the connection liberally with an appropriate grease?); and...

Not even close. ... I used to hear those words a lot on first dates, back in high school. Sigh. ... ALS (Ammonium Laureth sulfate or Ammonium Laurul sulfate) is an anionic surfactant. Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension. It is common in soaps (eg. baby shampoo). Ahhhhhh-h...

Ammonium sulfate helps the leaves absorb more product. Howdy, g-man!
