Re: First time lawn owner

I didn’t even know about centipede seed. I wonder how many people are having success with it.

Re: First time lawn owner

Hmm. Chickweed? Maybe. It will likely be faster to pull the weeds and see if there’s any desirable grass left behind. Many people find it’s easier to pull green weeds than dead weeds. There’s no such thing as seed for Centipede or St. Aug. You will either use plugs or sod instead of seed for those t...

I’m pretty excited to follow along! I’ve got Palmetto, but am experimenting with CitraBlue this year. Palmetto is incredibly beautiful, but it’s turning out to be a real needy friend.

Re: What is best backpack sprayer in terms of quality?

Typhoon is able to put out a larger volume of liquid per minute than the Cyclone. I run my Cyclone with a 2 nozzle boom. I'm not sure at what point the Typhoon goes from a "nice to have" to "need to have."

For 6k, I personally think that at 6k you will regret not buying a 4gal backpack sprayer.
I agree with this part; it's not overkill to get a 4 gallon backpack. I didn't think I needed more than 2 pressure settings when I bought my Flowzone V2, but now I am drooling over the 5 setting variant.

Yeah, the leaves alternate at the nodes. I'm guessing centipede as well.

PVC Toilet (closet) flange cracked

Like all the home improvement projects that I start, replacing a toilet has turned into an unwanted adventure. When I pulled up the old toilet, I realized that it was grouted in place with some toilet shims. That didn’t seem like a big deal at first, but then I realized that the flange has a crack i...

Re: Venturing into spraying instead of spreading granules

After spraying 20-30 times you'll have it dialed in. Get a good wide tip and don't use dye! That's a mess! I haven’t sprayed that much yet, but I can see where it takes many attempts to really have it mastered. I’m still using marking dye (no more mess after I got the tilt-to-measure feature) and a...
