Re: Best Match for Common Bermuda

If you want common, either pull plugs from your existing, or seed it with some cheap common from Home Depot.

Re: 2019 GIJoe4500's Bermuda/Zoysia Lawns

The front and little side strip are slowly looking better and better. Forgot to snap a pic of the back. It still have some thin spots, but it's improving too.

Re: Lawn separation

On one side of my house, my neighbor has agreed to let me mow and treat her part of the lawn all the way up to her driveway (about 5 feet). Its common bermuda, and looks decent, but i'm hoping my emerald zoysia will take it over (but I doubt it ever will since bermuda is bermuda). On the other side,...

4 oz per 1k is a weight measurement. 1 oz is about 28.35g.

Re: Checkerboarding Sod

What i did when I only had 1 pallet to put down, was put it all together as a square in the center of the yard. Once it was established, I started pulling plugs as I had time, and putting them elsewhere in the yard.

Re: What are you doing.... NOW?

Putting together materials for my Scouts BSA Female Troop to be able to successfully plan future meetings and camp outs. They have a lot of energy and need help knowing where to direct it.

Now its too bad they don't have a Lawncare merit badge.

Re: What shows do you watch?

Two episodes into Umbrella Academy on Netflix. First episode was pretty good, second one was meh. Hoping it picks up a bit once they finish the backstory bits. Stick with it. That show was amazing! I did end up enjoying it. Wasn't one of my all time faves or anything, but was a solid show. I heard ...

Re: Help with mixing rate for Celcius

2 gallon sprayer, as in one of those hand pump and carry jobbies that cost like $10? Those aren't very accurate and you'll have to be careful not to overspray your Celsius. The best way to properly measure out celsius, is to follow label rate for weight, and weigh your Celsius. Its used in such smal...

Re: Can't seem to cut the runners

To tackle the runners I had going on like that, I raked the yard with a steel tine leaf rack to "fluff" the runners, then mowed over them with my McLane. Worked out pretty well. Before raking, they wouldn't be picked up by the reel.

Re: 2019 GIJoe4500's Bermuda/Zoysia Lawns

I think both lawns are too uneven for a 0.500" cut. Will give the Bermuda a couple mow weeks to see if it does end up okay at that height, but the zoysia is going up to 0.700" for the next cut. https://i.postimg.cc/P5QbcN2k/IMG-20190415-173418.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/RFFWgZbG/IMG-20190415-173655.jpg

Is there hose reel just a discount on purchase, or a free reel. If free, I'd probably go that route, otherwise, the tv or garden cart.

Sprayed the lawns with 2oz/k of Feature and 0.25oz/k of PGR. Hopefully the results will speak for themselves quickly. I'm interested in seeing how things turn out.

Have you probed the ground to see if there is a rock or something under there?

Re: 2019 GIJoe4500's Bermuda/Zoysia Lawns

This is how much shade I have mid-day. I'm surprised the zoysia is coming in at all. I'll definitely be thinning out the live oak, as soon as oak wilt isn't a concern. https://i.postimg.cc/NMFtP4p1/IMG-20190412-114015.jpg Started putting in some stepping stones where all the foot traffic is through ...

Re: LA Basshole03 Bermuda Journal

Looking good so far! By the end of May, you can probably have all those bare spots filled in with Bermuda. Anything still bare will probably have some form of underlying condition. (Big rock underground, too much shade, etc)

Tomorrow, I'll be working on cleaning up the rock beds, and getting everything back in its place. Need to start getting everything squared away to decide if I want to plant anything or not. https://i.postimg.cc/RV9w1XDJ/IMG-20190410-201202.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/c1fQ8VXN/IMG-20190410-201215.jpg ht...

Re: 2019 GIJoe4500's Bermuda/Zoysia Lawns

After an inspection, went ahead and rescalped the Bermuda. Took it down to approximately 0.375". It was pretty stemmy. I'm going to attempt to mow it at 0.500", but if that doesn't work, I'll bump it up to 0.700". https://i.postimg.cc/vT4NtSnF/IMG-20190410-200254.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/vBqK9dct/IM...

Glad this topic was posted. I'm in same boat. Only time to mow is on weekend. My only other option is to mow at 5:00am or 8pm on a week day. you gotta join in the #WeekNightLawnWork crew.. brother im down with it! I guess now that I have a reel i won't be disturbing as many neighbors as I would wit...
