Re: McLane Reel Mower Questions

Does anyone know how to resolve this? I tried to adjust the nut on the bar, but I don't think it is really doing anything. https://i.postimg.cc/L8w0r3rG/IMG-3137.jpg May I suggest the Motor Replacement Thread . I've ended up going to a .5" X 21" . I did get the stock 19.5" belt to work but a longer...

Very nice.

I thought I was doing good writing a script to calculate GDD and email me a graph daily. You made a whole website with lots more features in less time.

Re: GreenKeeper App Free Version Gone June 17, 2021

I'm trying to work this issue out myself. I still need to figure out the automation portion and a few other things though. I've never done any automation before so it will probably take me some time to figure it out. I'm pulling present and future data from www.visualcrossing.com/weather-data . I"m ...

Re: Why is my lawn still not green?

I don't know about you guys but, Oklahoma is clearly cooler than normal. Soil temps on average are about 10 degrees lower than normal. I still have some spots in the front that don't get a lot of sun that are still bare dirt practically.

Re: Oak tree pruning after ice storm

Assuming Davey is correct, it looks like you are supposed to wait a while before pruning in this situation.

Oak tree pruning after ice storm

Like many in Oklahoma I had some tree damage from our freak ice storm. I have two oak trees in my front yard and I lost the tops (along with many other branches) of both of them. I trimmed off the damaged parts months ago. Now I have new branches growing like crazy. Specifically at the top of the tr...

Re: Mclane Reel Mower Motor Replacement

Continuing this thread, I’m getting ready to do the swap after the mower comes back from sharpening. The drive chains are pretty stretched out. Did any of you replace the chains as well? Did you order them from Mclane? I've replaced all the chains with THIS . I used a dremel with a cutting wheel to...

Re: What song/artist are you listening to?

I skimmed the last few pages and saw a few Home Free video's posted. For those of you that haven't given Home Free a listen you are missing something. Tim Foust has some wicked bass. Home Free's version of Do You Hear What I Hear is one of my Christmas favorites, specifically 2 min and 29 seconds in...

Re: Dealing with HOAs

The one main thing I don't like about my HOA is their no shed policy. That does seem ludicrous. There has to be a way to amend your CC&R. Maybe this is a project you could take on (getting the CC&R changed that is) to make some change in your neighborhood. Our CC&R's say sheds under 6' (we all have...

RayTL thanks for the info. It's funny how hobbies are so addicting and you just want to buy cooler toys. @MarkV I get 60 miles on my Comet GP3 at 20 ft AGL with 50 ft LMR400 on a Kenwood TMV71A on 2m 70cm On HF I hear stations all over the world and have transmitted to Europe, southern Brazil, and ...

Re: HAM Radio

Of you that are running an antenna in your attic. What range are you getting on what wattage? Do you have a radiant barrier as well? I bought an HT a few months back to listen in. I think I'm going to try and get my technician license over the summer. I would like to have a way to communicate during...

Moving Bushes

Would it be likely that if I (dug up and )swapped places of the bush in the center and the one on the right that they would survive? Or should I dig them up and buy new ones? I want to move them to make things more symmetrical. I believe the right is a golden euonymus and I don't know what the cente...

Re: Dealing with HOAs

My wife spent two years on our board and I was on the two years after her. I can't speak to as how your HOA does things. But the way we handled architectural reviews was an email came in with what ever request; the board (we only had five people at most so all board members we on all committees) wou...

Re: Pocket Knife Recommendations?

I've carried a Spyderco of some sort for the last 20 years. I have the C122GBBKP at the moment. It's about $60 on Amazon. I've been very happy with them. I'm also not that picky when it comes to a knife. I can keep it sharp and that's good enough for me. I would recommend getting a plain edge blade ...
