Re: Help finding an inexpensive source of soluble iron sulfate

I wasn't aware of them. A 30 pound bag for $38 shipped is certainly the best price I've seen. Thanks. Kelp4Less runs specials every week as well. I started using their Extreme Blend, Yucca, Azomite, and Molasses this year as a foliar supplement for my bermuda grass. If you order try using coupon co...

Re: Grass growing in tufts , won't green up fully. What is going on?

I have an Eliet Scarifier/Dethatcher that I use at least once a year on my Tifway 419. A good dethatching does wonders for the turf. If your lawn size is 1500 square feet I don't think you need something that big. Take a look at this review. Hope you find it helpful. https://youtu.be/erC9sDJHy1o Yo...

Not sure of how much you use or if you have an interest in applying a foliar application. Have you tried Kelp4Less?

I thought worms were good? Or is this a sign of something else?
Earthworms are good. Grub worms are not.

I would go 5 minutes and check the results. You can work your way up to 10 minutes. I placed tarps out last night over new sanded sod. I am glad I did as we received 3.5 inches of rain.
Thanks for the advice gpbrown60 its much appreciated...

Re: Sand and Watering

Run the sprinklers and slowly work it in. If you wait on mother nature she may provide you with a monsoon and the sand will run everywhere.

Late to the party but I took my light off as soon as I got the mower home. No regrets!

Re: Bermuda mowing height?

In addition to a level yard I would think you need to dethatch on a regular basis. I can't imagine a rotary mower cutting effectively with a lot of thatch.

Re: Confusing advice for my soil tests. Slow or Quick Release?

Either fertilizer is fine. A 10-10-10 is around $12 and the 18-24-12 is $42. It depends on what you want to spend. I live in N. Atlanta and fertilized a few weeks ago. If you haven't already, scalp the lawn down, rake up and throw er down! In May, I would core aerate. I use a Lesco synthetic for th...

Re: Taking back my lawn

Sorry for the delay, I have had a lot happen since my last post. Wife, baby, etc.. Now, I finally have some time to work on my yard. The lawnmower I had on order last year didn't ship so I finally ordered one a week ago and received it yesterday. Also, yesterday my lawn guy came to give my yard a t...

In December I put down about 1000 square feet of TifTuf in hopes it will resolve issues in an area that receives shade from my neighbor's lawn.
Daggum, how high does he keep his lawn? :D
Not sure I follow you. What do you mean? Nevermind, I should have said from my neighbors' trees.

Re: Phosphorous Free Fertilizer

As you mentioned Purely Organic Products have a 10-0-2 in a 25 lb. bag that covers 5,000 square feet. It is 50% cheaper than Ringer and can be purchased online through Home Depot. I recently ordered some and picked it up at my local HD. It is unfortunate that they do not stock it in the store.
