Re: Information about PGR

Anyone scalp and apply PGR? Won’t be able to cut for 2 weeks! Looking to get another reset and scalp at 0.35 and apply PGR and hopefully keep it under 0.5 when I get to mow again. Thoughts? Apply the pgr a day or 2 before the scalp. Since its a foliar app you'll need leaf surface to absorb it.

Re: For noobs considering PGR

I want to time my rebound with a HOC adjustment. It says I need to reapply today/tomorrow. Should I go ahead and scalp now? I don't want to stay ugly for longer than I have to.. and this is my first PGR app, so I'm not really sure how accurate the GreenKeeper app is. Its got me at 225 GDD for re-ap...

900sqft looks like tenacity might be your best/cheapest option.

Re: Funky Grass/Weed mixed in with St. Augustine Lawn

How big is the infested area? My thought is it may be cheaper and easier to kill and sod.

You could buy some from a fellow member in the marketplace here. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7211

Edit: Note that tenacity will turn your st aug white for a while.

Re: Celsius WG vs. Dallisgrass

Nope. In my experience it turns dallisgrass neon yellow at the high rate but it survives in the end. Msma or brush with gly. Mine turned yellow too. What is this "paint method" y'all are referring to? Use a paintbrush to coat the leaves with glyphosate for less collateral damage to your lawn.

Probably wouldn't hurt it or help it. Bermuda grows faster than st aug usually though.

Re: Ok to scalp-reset St. Augustine?

My thought is there has got to be something underlying causing this. I wouldn't go scalping st aug in the heat of summer. Maybe a light manual thatch rake. I'd be checking for mole tunnels, bugs/grubs, probing the ground, looking for signs of drought/fungus and checking the roots etc...

Re: Favorite phosphorus free fertilizer?

For a small lawn I prefer miracle gro lawn food. 36-0-6 with a little iron. It dissolves very fast if melting down for sprayer, but their hose end sprayer is quick and easy too.

@FlaDave that would be a good idea if further treatment for Armyworm is needed this year. Dylox allows I think 3 applications and Acelepryn allows 1.
I see, grub-ex label does specify one app per year. I had overlooked that. Thanks for mentioning it.

Re: PGR Question

Can someone help me with the application rate of T-Nex per gallon to use per 1000 sq ft on Tif-419 this will be my first application. I have a 4 gal chapin sprayer. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a repeat and dumb question. Depends on your HOC. .5" or under use up to .25oz/M, If over .5" us...

Acelepryn is supposed to work wonders against army worms. Same AI can be found in scotts grub-ex and More affordable for smaller lawns.

Re: Reelcentipede soil results

I'm no expert when it comes to soil amendments. I would avoid fertilizers containing Phosphorus if it were my lawn though. Centipede doesn't need much to keep it happy usually.
