Re: Lawn type

There is a lot going on in those photos. If you could pull a few pieces of the grass you want to id and post pics of the blades/stems/stolons we might be able to get an idea of what grass you have the most of. If you can find seedheads those would be very helpful too.

That would be a judgement call since its absorbed by the grass blades. If you've completely scalped all the blades off i would wait for it to recover.

Re: 2019 | What did you do with your lawn today?

So, this wasn't TO my lawn, but FOR my lawn...I spent nearly 2 HOURS dealing with Amazon customer service trying to get a small bottle of Quicksilver shipped to me. For some reason it is coded in their system to not ship to Florida. It is not restricted in Florida, the seller says it is supposed to...

Re: Weed ID Thread - What is it and how do I kill it?

I couldn’t find a better place to ask this. Can I mix Celsius and sedgehammer together in my backpack sprayer? And if so could someone give me rates of both with water? I am so frustrated with weeds right now. Thanks. BTW Virginia button weed is my biggest culprit but I have some image for it. Yes ...

I scalped a portion of my lawn to keep lower than the rest. Should I wait for it to green up completely before applying PGR?

Re: St. Augustine fungus?

The seedheads could be a stress response. I'm not very knowlegable on fungus but grey leaf spot seems fairly common with st aug. You only have a couple of blades with spots there so it could be something else.

Re: Weed ID Thread - What is it and how do I kill it?

Happy 4th all. This stuff grows in isolated sprigs in one corner of the bermuda lawn, and up the driveway. The last detail makes me think it's some kind of ground cover like liriope, but as far as I know it doesn't grow in clumps like liriope. Past couple of weeks it's been poking its head out to s...

Re: Bahia to Bermuda renovation

That's coming along great! Once you're able to hit those weeds with celsius and get pre-em down, it will be smooth sailing. That looks more than enough good grass to have a full lawn by fall.

Re: For noobs considering PGR

Thanks for your testimonial here. I'm wanting to try PGR on my bermuda to reduce all the manual reel mowing I'm doing to keep my lawn at .75", but my main hesitation is that my back yard is my dog's haven. Anyone know what kind of risks there are with PGR and pets? Most keep pets off until dry. See...

Re: Dogs and Backyards

My old st augustine backyard did really well with my husky. It was heavy shade also. I never fertilized it but did mulch mow so her pee spots probably helped. I didn't have irrigation either. Mowed at 4"+. Thinking back now I'm not sure how that yard did so well.

Re: New here. Introduction and advice needed.

If you enjoy being in the lawn it won't be a waste of time and money. Granted I wouldn't sod a rental lawn on my own dime but I would sure try to dominate the neighborhood with what I have to work with. The lawn might not be yours in the end but you'll get to enjoy it while you're there. The knowled...

Re: Swirl marks from mower

That's really odd. I would check the blade is not damaged or bent. Double check wheels are all at proper height setting. If it's a smart stow make sure handle bars are locked into proper holes, one side off can twist the deck. That's all I got off the top of my head.

Re: LESCO 12-0-0 Chelated Iron Liquid Fertilizer

That iron would be a nice addition to the gordons. Since it also has nitrogen I would run the numbers if foliar feeding and not watering in right away. If not I would definitely use plenty carrier to dilute it. From what I gathered from MQ's foliar feeding thread .1lbN/M is plenty. My last couple ap...
