Re: College Football 2019 Season Discussion Thread

Watching the 'white out' in Happy Valley as Penn State takes on Michigan. Place looks like a giant field of cotton - should call it the Cotton Bowl...! Should be a great game. My bride decided to go on to bed - the LSU game kinda tuckered her partying all out...! Watching too! Won't feel good until...

Re: What did you do with your landscaping today?

Bought the rest of the hostas left at Lowe's as well as 6 more rose bushes. Roses are knockouts and double knockouts. Lots of planting to do tomorrow.

Re: What did you do with your landscaping today?

It's the time of year to get great deals on landscape plants. I hit Lowe's at the right time for 75% off. They actually had a nice selection so I'll probably go back tomorrow. Spent $3 for each hosta and $5 for the rose bush.

Re: Seed Label

Looks ok to me. No weed seed and very low crop. I use seed that typically has .05% crop which a lot of members here wouldn’t use. I don’t seem to have crazy issues.

Re: Fertilizer and rain

Do you mean urea? It dissolves rather quickly and with your irrigation I wouldn’t be concerned at all.

Thanks @massgrass and @DFW_Zoysia. On the list for next year. It looks good for spreading peat moss too as I recall @GrassDaddy using it for that purpose.

I’ve been looking at these for awhile now. What is the advantage over a standard rake?

Again, personal attacks will not be tolerated nor will political discussion on this site as that will only quickly spiral out of control. Please keep this on topic.

Re: Pennstater’s 2019 Lawn Journal (Starts Page 32)

The next area to be renovated is fairly shady midday. Starting to think about cultivars to address that. Not sure though. If you do KBG... you have to be even more patient in shady areas. My last house the back part of the backyard backed up to woods that faced south. It got a tiny bit of sunlight ...

Got urea down late last night over whole lawn for the rains that are here now. I’m getting close to winding down the urea.

Re: Why does Pennsylvania have a "State Mix"??? (random rant thread, FYI)

Lots of them offer it up as a “Penn State” mix knowing folks will associate it with the university which it is not. Just saw this at Ace Hardware recently.
