Zorro Zoysia

Post by markjegan » Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:01 pm

Raleigh, NC - My front lawn is Zorro Zoysia, about 5,000 sq. feet. For the most part it looks really good. My issue is that I can't seem to find a weed herbicide that Zorro can tolerate. I have tried all kinds of warm season/Zoysia specified products, but the Zorro will discolor (turn brown) in a few days after spot treatment.

Image, to control the predominant Nutsedge weed in the spring. I have also tried the Roundup for lawns and Spectricide in lower than indicated doses. If i could find something to control the Nutsedge and not hurt the Zorro, I would be happy. I do use a pre emergent in the fall for this.

Bonide Sedge Ender killed the sedge, but also killed my Zorro. Sedgehammer worked well without hurting the Zorro at all.

Sedgehammer has always worked for me. I’ve used it on El Toro, Emerald, Empire, Zeon, & Zorro and never had any issues.

So what general herbicide is Zorro safe? I've had the same problem as the OP. Got hurt pretty bad last year.
