Hiya. First time poster here. I have a newish house in Buellton on California Central Coast in the temperate zone. I put new Zeon Zoysia down in August if last year and I've been slowly watching it die. I did everything I thought I was supposed to. My soil tested fine but needed some nitrogen so u threw compost down mixed with the Sandy dirt we have here, laid hardwire cloth down for gopher protection, then 2" dirt and then sod. Lawn looked great for a while. I fertilized a little late, but mowed with a reel mower and all, still, this is where I'm at come March.
Sucks. Not sure what to do. I see some rust type fungus and have just put down my second application of fungicide, but at this point I'm wondering if I should scrap the project and just oversees with fescue (which I know does well here) or continue trying to pull it out.
Thoughts? Where did I go wrong? What can be done?
Thanks
