disease identification

Post by jman1120 »

I have these brown patches in my yard that have been there all summer. I thought it was brown patch and treated it a couple of times with the chemical shown here, but it seems worse now.

Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

I am not a disease expert by any means, but it looks a lot like what I had in my yard. Treated it with 3 different mode of action disease treatments (disease ex and two professional products from do my own) and nothing killed it. Talked to my neighbors local spray company and he confirmed it was dollar spot, and recommended daconil (8 dollars for a 32 ounce spray at lowes). I sprayed it one time with that and they went away within 10 days and haven’t returned. I also put down heavy fert (1 pound nitrogen per 1000) at the same time to help push the new growth and kept mowing and bagging the clippings twice a week. It has been over a month and a half and hasn’t returned yet.
