Over used Celsius wg- now what?

Post by KingFF »

I went to go spot spray my lawn using Celsius and normally I use a scale, but not this time. The label called for two teaspoons and I used two table spoons. I sprayed my lawn and then I realized what I did. In order to “wash it off “ I set my sprinklers on for an hour. Will my lawn be okay? Anything else I can do?

How many gallons of water did you use for that 2 tablespoons? Why are you using a tsp and a tbsp? Didn't the Celsius come with a measuring cup or a cone for measuring? From what I figure based on the label (2 gallons of water), you sprayed 3 times the high rate per 1000sf. It will probably be dinged for a bit but it should recover. On the bright side, it is going to smoke all your broadleaf problems.

I used two gallons of water for two tablespoons. Will over watering help in anyway? Prevent the scorching? I guess that’s one way to look at it! Thanks for the bright side!

You'll be fine. Might not work with all the water though

@KingFF, please keep us posted on the results. I am very curious if you get burned, dead spots or if you just wasted some Celsius.

As an exercise, would the experienced folks here check my understanding...

2 tablespoons = about 30 grams into 2 gal = 15 grams per gal
2 teaspoons = about 10 grams into 2 gal = 5 grams per gal

Celsius WG label rate for spot spraying = 1.6 grams to 3.2 grams per gal

So if I understand correctly, the OP applied about 5X the maximum spot spray label rate. Even if they used only "2 teaspoons", they would be still be applying about 1.5X the maximum label rate, correct?

Just dont drive around with that in your car. It’s considered drug paraphernalia.
Had a long talk with a police one day when i was taking it to my mother in law house. Glad i had a herbicide in the car with me
